gener8tor and Geekdom Announce Six Companies Participating in the First gener8tor Cybersecurity Cohort

Half of the cohort hail from the San Antonio-Austin region and half relocated to Military City USA from Estonia, New York and California, demonstrating why San Antonio is a top 10 global cyber hub

SAN ANTONIO, Texas  - Today, gener8tor Cybersecurity Accelerator announced the first cohort of six startups selected for its 2022 accelerator program. Each company will receive a $100,000 investment from gener8tor, alongside concierge coaching, mentorship and connections needed to build and scale their businesses.

The companies are Blocmount, Blue2Factor, Cyber Warrior Network, Exofense, Hertzian and KeepAware, which are relocating from around the globe to San Antonio for the accelerator program.

“When we announced the gener8tor Cybersecurity Accelerator in October 2021, we knew we were taking an important step toward growing San Antonio’s startup ecosystem,” said Charles Woodin, CEO of Geekdom, San Antonio’s premier collaborative startup community. “An accelerator was the piece we were missing. To have these six companies in residence at Geekdom is both exciting and energizing.”

The gener8tor Cybersecurity Accelerator is a 12-week program that invests in six startups per cohort. Each cohort is kept small to ensure meaningful engagement with the program team, global community and regional resources. Participants receive intensive and individualized coaching and access to gener8tor’s national network of mentors, customers, corporate partners and investors. Throughout the 12 weeks, the program team helps each startup secure customers, gain mentorship, accelerate their revenue growth, and attract additional funding through the support of gener8tor’s investor partners.

“There is nowhere I would rather be than working with this cohort here in my hometown,” said Amanda Lee Keammerer, managing director of gener8tor Cybersecurity Accelerator and a San Antonio native. “Here in the second largest cyber hub in the nation, these six companies represent a wide range of solutions to the toughest cyber challenges facing our world today. From quantum-proof microchips and password-less multi-factor authentication to browser plug-ins and cyber talent discovery through gamification to preventing DDoS attacks through game theory and protocol layer protections - I can’t wait for everyone to meet these founders and invest in their companies, their products and their vision.”

The fall 2022 gener8tor Cybersecurity Accelerator program kicked off on Thursday, August 25 and will conclude Wednesday, November 16. During San Antonio Startup Week, this cohort will showcase their companies to the community on Thursday, October 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Briscoe Western Art Museum. The six companies taking part in the San Antonio-based program were recruited from around the world, competed through a rigorous application and interview process, and were selected from among hundreds of applicants because of their strong performance on five key elements: cybersecurity industry impact, team, traction, product/service and market opportunity.

Applications for the spring 2023 cohort are now open. Startups building products in the security tech and cybersecurity industries are encouraged to apply by Saturday, November 19.
