About gBETA

gBETA runs multiple times every year in cities across the United States. Up to five companies from a range of verticals are selected from a competitive applicant pool to participate in the free seven-week program. Participating companies receive:

  • Individualized coaching and mentorship from the team of nationally ranked accelerator gener8tor on company growth and investor readiness

  • Weekly "Lunch & Learns" and "Mentor Swarms"

  • Investor and accelerator pitches

  • $1M+ in deals and perks from vendors like IBM Cloud, Rackspace, Amazon, Paypal, Zendesk, Hubspot and Microsoft

  • Ongoing post-program support and gener8tor community involvement and offerings

gBETA's goal is that graduates will go on to participate in an investment accelerator or raise a seed round. You can see gBETA's progress against these goals here.

Eligibility Criteria for gBETA Prosper Healthtech

Based in Alabama

gBETA Prosper Healthtech is an equity-free pre-accelerator for early-stage companies based in Alabama. The program runs in an in-person format in Birmingham, AL.

Program Commitment

You can commit to at least 85% of our programming, with the ideal being 100%. gBETA requires at least 5-7 hours weekly of programming, not including the time founders dedicate to working on their businesses independently.

Openness, Fundraising, and Sales

You’re prepared to discuss your business openly with mentors and investors, knowing that not everything is proprietary. Raising capital is on your radar, and you are either selling already or ready to scale your sales in a more reliable, consistent way.

Coachability and Responsiveness

You’re coachable, open to feedback, and value multiple perspectives to make informed decisions for your business. You’re also responsive and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What Types of Startups are We Looking For?

Startups Primed for Growth: This program is ideal for early-stage healthtech, life sciences, and healthcare-focused startups that want to scale, validate their business model, and prepare for future growth and investment.

Industry Focused: The program supports innovators across health, healthcare, and life sciences, including software-driven and regulated technologies advancing patient care, research, and healthcare delivery.

Verticals we look for, but are not limited to:

  • Digital Health & HealthTech – Software solutions that enhance patient care, clinical workflows, healthcare access, or system efficiency.

  • Healthcare & Medical Software – Platforms that optimize operations, data management, interoperability, compliance, or clinical decision-making.

  • Life Sciences & Biotechnology – Innovations in diagnostics, therapeutics, research tools, bioinformatics, or lab-enabled technologies.

  • Class I Medical Devices – Low-risk medical devices with clear regulatory pathways and scalable commercialization potential.

  • Fintech & Insurtech for Healthcare – Solutions addressing payments, billing, insurance, or financial efficiency for healthcare providers and organizations.

  • Employee Health & Wellness Platforms – Technologies focused on workforce health, benefits administration, mental health, or preventive care.

  • AI & Data-Driven Healthcare – Machine learning, predictive analytics, or automation tools that improve outcomes, operations, or access to care.

Who this isn’t for? Brick-and-mortar healthcare clinics, traditional service-based businesses, or non-technology healthcare practices.

Program Timeline

Seven weeks of hands-on strategy meetings, weekly Lunch & Learns, mentor introductions, and 1:1 pitches with investors, plus ongoing alumni support to keep your momentum going after the program ends.

  1. Getting Started

    Program Kick-Off: A 1.5-day kickoff that maps out your next seven weeks, builds your cohort, and pairs you 1:1 with your Program Manager.

  2. Weeks 1–6

    Team Meetings: Two 1-hour strategy sessions each week with your Program Manager to set priorities and keep your business moving.

    Lunch & Learns: Weekly 1-hour sessions on: Market and Competition, Revenue Models, Financing and Milestones, Comparables, Pitching, How to Get into an Accelerator, and more!

    Mentor Swarms: One 2-hour "speed dating" session each week with a group of new mentors, for a total of ~30 mentor introductions over six weeks.

  3. Week 7

    Investor Swarms: Curated 1:1 pitch meetings with 25+ investors actively looking to fund startups.

    Showcase: Final celebration event with live pitches and networking with mentors, investors, and customers.

  4. Post-Program

    Alumni Support: Ongoing assistance and resources for graduates of the program to help continue their growth and success.

    Lightning Rounds: Curated, one-on-one pitch sessions between startups and investors. Learn more
