Six Alaska-Based Startups Selected for Accelerator

gener8tor and University Alaska Fairbanks Center for Innovation welcome eighth gBETA Alaska cohort

Anchorage, AK - Six Alaska-based companies have been selected to participate in a statewide startup accelerator program. beadedcloud (Anchorage), Bind (Wasilla), EagleSong Alaska (Susitna), MyEyesAI (Anchorage), SuprSketch (Anchorage), and Tundra Electronics (Kenai) will participate in the gBETA Alaska program through national venture capital firm gener8tor

gBETA Alaska, a free program of the gold-rated startup accelerator and venture capital company gener8tor, is a seven-week mentorship-driven accelerator program designed to set a path for startups to scale and pursue investment opportunities. Startup founders receive intensive coaching and access to gener8tor's national network of mentors, customers, corporate partners and investors. Since 2021, the program has graduated 35 Alaska companies that have raised $7.5+ million in growth capital and sustained/created 147 jobs.

The six selected companies were chosen for their innovative approaches, growth potential and investor readiness, with the ability to drive impact in Alaska and beyond. See below for more details on each company.

β€œAlaska is home to driven, resourceful founders who are building solutions rooted in real-world experience,” said Kristen Gibbs, gBETA Alaska Program Director. β€œBy challenging and supporting them with candid mentorship and focused guidance, we help clarify their vision, accelerate sustainable growth and turn local talent into businesses that expand opportunity across the state.”

The gBETA Alaska program is intense. Founders receive feedback to iterate upon weekly, if not daily. They also establish relationships with an incredible network of supportive mentors, both locally and from gener8tors' national network, to lean upon during and after the program.

The program is made possible by a partnership with the Center for Innovation, the University of Alaska Fairbanks’ Innovation Hub. The Center for Innovation provides an extensive range of programs that provide funding, training and expertise designed to support and scale the commercialization of research into real world solutions. The Center for Innovation is directed by Director Prof. Peter Webley, who also serves as the Associate Director of Research at the Alaska Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems Integration (ACUASI) and was the Vice-President of UAF’s first start-up, V-ADAPT, Inc.

β€œThe Center for Innovation is proud to partner with gener8tor’s gBETA Alaska to bring this accelerator to our business community,” said Webley. β€œTogether, we are committed to equipping founders and entrepreneurs with the guidance and resources they need to strengthen their strategies, scale their ventures and drive economic opportunity in Alaska.”

At the end of the gBETA Alaska program, the startup founders will pitch their companies to investors, community partners and the public at a showcase event at 5:00 p.m. on April 21 at the Wood Center, University Alaska Fairbanks, 1731 S. Chandalar, Fairbanks, AK. Register for the event here
