ProvidusUnity Bank and gener8tor Launch Lighting Rounds to Catalyze Investment for Nigerian Startups

Applications open now until July 7, 2026

Nigeria – ProvidusUnity Bank and gener8tor are proud to announce the launch of Lightning Rounds, a new initiative designed to accelerate investment in Nigerian-led startups and SMEs across the country. This strategic program is supported by ProvidusUnity Bank and aims to close the funding gap by connecting entrepreneurs with active regional and global investors through the gener8tor and Nigeria network.

The Nigeria Lightning Rounds will be hosted on July 15, 2026 and will provide curated one-on-one virtual meetings between pre-selected startups and targeted investors who have expressed interest in supporting Nigerian innovation. Each participating founder will have the opportunity to pitch investors, in rapid-fire 15-minute sessions, all facilitated and supported by gener8tor and ProvidusUnity Bank’s international networks.

ProvidusUnity Bank is emerging as a powerhouse for entrepreneurship, attracting the best talent to Nigeria. With the support of ProvidusUnity Bank and our partnership with gener8tor, we are excited to provide a platform that offers to increase visibility and provide investment opportunities for deserving founders, tapping into the growing potential of these innovative ventures.

Lightning Rounds are a signature initiative of gener8tor’s investment platform, which has facilitated thousands of investor-startup meetings globally. The format is optimized to eliminate friction, reduce bias in early-stage fundraising, and help founders secure capital from investors aligned with their mission and stage. gener8tor’s previous Lightning Rounds for Nigerian Founders in 2025 featured 18 participating Investors and led to 50 investment meetings facilitated.

“gener8tor is thrilled to partner with ProvidusUnity Bank to extend the Lightning Rounds model into Nigeria,” said Elizabeth Larios, Director of Lightning Rounds at gener8tor. “This collaboration reflects our commitment to building equitable ecosystems and driving capital to the most promising and underrepresented entrepreneurs.”

The program will focus on high-growth sectors including fintech, healthtech, manufacturing, sustainability, and AI, but welcomes SMEs from ALL industries. Founders from across Nigeria are encouraged to apply.
