gener8tor Founder Series Spotlight: Stacey Halum, Vibrant Therapeutics
In this episode, we’re featuring Stacey Halum, Founder and CEO of Vibrant Therapeutics, an Indianapolis-based biotech company developing a biologic platform designed to treat muscle paralysis by enabling nerve regrowth to affected muscles.
Built on more than two decades of research, Vibrant Therapeutics is working to bring a new therapeutic approach to patients living with neuromuscular disease. The company represents a powerful intersection of scientific rigor and founder-driven vision, translating deep research into real-world clinical potential.
Stacey joined the IU Health Incubator through the IU LAB Pre-Accelerator Powered by gener8tor last fall, where she focused on building the business foundation behind her science.
Through the program, she gained:• A clearer understanding of how to communicate complex scientific work to investors• Hands-on experience translating research into a compelling business narrative• Access to a strong network of mentors, founders, and industry leaders
Today, Vibrant Therapeutics is in its early stages, actively building its pipeline of biologic candidates while engaging with investors to support its next phase of growth.
Stacey’s insight for fellow founders:“The lessons you get from other founders are priceless. If you can learn from someone else’s mistakes, it will save you a ton of time and energy.”
Stacey’s journey highlights the unique challenges of building in biotech, where science alone is not enough. The ability to translate research into a compelling story, build the right relationships, and learn from those who have done it before can make the difference between staying in the lab and bringing innovation to patients. For founders operating in complex, highly technical industries, her experience is a reminder that community and clarity are just as critical as the technology itself.
