Five West Virginia-based Startups Selected For Accelerator
gener8tor and Marshall University Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship welcome second gBETA at Marshall’s iCenter Powered by Quality Insights cohort
Huntington, WV - Five West Virginia-based companies have been selected to participate in the gBETA at Marshall’s iCenter Powered by Quality Insights program, a statewide startup accelerator program through global venture capital firm gener8tor in partnership with the Marshall University Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (iCenter). BioImaginix (Morgantown), BurqOra (Parkersburg), Huntington Analytics (Huntington), Moffeus (Wheeling), and Parthian Battery Solutions (Morgantown) were chosen for their innovative approaches, growth potential, and investor readiness, with the ability to drive impact in West Virginia and beyond.
gBETA at Marshall’s iCenter, a free program of the gold-rated startup accelerator gener8tor, is a seven-week mentorship-driven accelerator program designed to set a path for startups to scale and pursue investment opportunities. Startup founders receive intensive coaching and access to gener8tor's national network of mentors, customers, corporate partners and investors. Since 2025, the program has graduated five West Virginian companies that have raised $3 million in growth capital.
“What stands out about this cohort is the level of ambition and adaptability these founders bring to the table,” said Bill Kuhn, Program Manager for gBETA at Marshall’s iCenter at gener8tor. “The program is designed to challenge companies quickly, connect them to meaningful feedback, and help position them for long-term growth and investment readiness.”
The gBETA at Marshall’s iCenter program is intense. Founders receive feedback to iterate upon weekly, if not daily. They also establish relationships with an incredible network of supportive mentors, both locally and from gener8tors' national network, to lean upon during and after the program.
The iCenter uses design thinking to drive innovation across campus and support the growth of early-stage startups in West Virginia. In addition to gBETA, the iCenter leads several key initiatives, including the Innovation Catalyst Program and the Brad D. Smith Student Incubator.
“We are excited to officially launch the first cohort of gBETA at Marshall’s iCenter after seeing the momentum and impact created during the pilot phase,” said iCenter Executive Director Tricia Ball. “Thanks to the support and shared vision of Quality Insights and partnership with gener8tor, we are able to provide West Virginia founders with high-touch startup support and access to a powerful national network.”
At the end of the gBETA at Marshall’s iCenter program, the startup founders will pitch their companies to investors, community partners and the public at a showcase event at 5 p.m. on July 9 at the Brad D. Smith Center for Business and Innovation, 1425 4th Ave, Huntington, WV 25701. Register for the event here.
