gBETA Wyoming Celebrates Milestone 10th Cohort of Local Entrepreneurs

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Five more Wyoming startups have been selected for gener8tor’s national gBETA startup accelerator. This group of five represents the 10th cohort of Wyoming-based companies selected for the program, for a total of 50 Wyoming startups accelerated since gBETA Wyoming launched in 2020.

The following five Wyoming startups were chosen from a competitive pool of nearly 40 applicants: Point Blank Tech; Wyonics; UW Nano; EstateScribe; and Pixelpay. More details about the companies are below.

gBETA Wyoming is a free, virtual and statewide seven-week accelerator program offered through national venture capital firm gener8tor. It is designed for early-stage Wyoming companies looking to grow, meet mentors and pitch investors. Startup founders receive intensive one-on-one coaching and access to gener8tor's national network of mentors, customers, corporate partners and investors. The cohort also receives continuous support as alumni of the program.

Since launching in 2020, gBETA Wyoming alumni companies have hailed from 14 Wyoming communities, created 195+ jobs, and raised $20.4M in follow-on funding after completing the accelerator, bringing in $28 to Wyoming for every $1 invested by the gBETA Wyoming program sponsor, Microsoft.

“At Microsoft, we’re committed to fueling innovation, expanding access to technology and empowering entrepreneurs in Wyoming,” said Mike Egan, General Manager of Microsoft TechSpark. “gBETA Wyoming is turning that vision into reality by driving momentum, sparking economic growth and helping build a stronger, tech-enabled future for the state.”

This year, The Business Studio @ Laramie County Community College also joined as a valuable supporting partner on the gBETA program.

At the end of the gBETA program, startup founders will pitch their companies to mentors, investors, community partners and the public at a free showcase event from 4-6 p.m. on Jan. 22 at the Laramie County Community College Flex Tech Building in Cheyenne.

At the showcase, alongside the gBETA pitches, attendees will also celebrate the accomplishments of gener8tor Skills Wyoming graduates. This statewide, workforce-focused initiative — also supported by Microsoft — helps job seekers gain in-demand training and career certifications. By supporting entrepreneurs and upskilling workers in tandem, gener8tor and Microsoft are driving economic mobility and innovation across Wyoming.

Startup companies and founders interested in learning more about gBETA’s programming and resources or applying to a future program can visit the gener8tor gBETA website or reach out to Baylie Evans at baylie@gener8tor.com. Those interested in meeting the current cohort companies as mentors or investors are encouraged to connect as well.

UW Nano has patented this technology and is in the top 50 for the X Prize Water Scarcity contest.
