Program Overview
The Cox Cleantech Residency is a free program (no investment, no equity) designed to fill the critical gap between applied research, early pilots, and scalable startups. We convert validated technologies and teams from universities, corporate R&D, and innovative garages into venture-ready companies, creating a durable local pipeline for the Cox Cleantech Accelerator and the broader Atlanta cleantech ecosystem.

Program Structure
Duration & Format
6 weeks in-person in Atlanta, starting August 10, 2026
Cohort size: Up to 10 carefully selected startups
High-Touch Support
- Weekly 1:1s — Individual coaching sessions with the Program Director
- Weekly Lunch & Learns — Practical skill-building on fundraising, market validation, pitch development, and more
- Mentor Swarms — Speed-dating style sessions with groups of experienced mentors

Early-stage teams — pre- or newly incorporated startups with technologies beyond the lab
TRL 7–8
More mature startups — strong candidates ready for the Cox Cleantech Accelerator
Stipend
Each selected company receives a stipend to use at their discretion, including toward housing costs.
