STARTUP FAQS
-
Lightning Rounds are curated, 15-minute meetings with corporate venture capital teams and innovation leaders from some of the world’s leading companies. These sessions are your chance to get in front of decision-makers who are actively scouting for startups to invest in and align with their long-term strategy. It’s a high-intent, high-impact opportunity to build relationships that can lead to funding, strategic backing, and future growth.
-
You’ll have about five minutes to pitch, so come prepared with a tight, compelling deck that hits the highlights. The rest of the time (10–15 minutes total) is for discussion, questions, and making a connection. Treat it less like a full investor pitch and more like the start of a valuable relationship. The gener8tor team will keep things moving and give you time cues so you can stay focused and on track.
-
Come ready with a sharp five-minute pitch and a clean, focused slide deck. Revie your meeting list in advance, take time to research the corporations or investors you’ll be meeting—know what they care about and how your startup aligns. Practice your elevator pitch, bring business cards, and have a few smart questions ready to spark meaningful conversation. The goal isn’t just to present—it’s to connect.
-
Bring your pitch deck, a one-pager or executive summary, and business cards. A notepad and pen—or tablet—can help you jot down quick takeaways. If you have relevant marketing materials, bring a few copies. Most importantly, show up with a positive, curious mindset.
-
Business casual is the go-to, but honestly—wear what makes you feel confident and comfortable. We've seen everything from startup tees and sneakers to business suits and VC casual. Company swag is always a safe bet, too. Think of this: how do you want to be remembered?
